Phew!!!! thats it for now :D

I've had abit of a splurge getting those pages done as I have had some time off this weekend... Woop woop :D It was meant to be the whole of last week off, then it was going to be from Thursday until the end of nedxt week, but because of work commitments I am back in for 3 days tomorrow :(

BUT we are going camping next weekend :D
We thought about going this weekend but Paul has been on call, good job we didn't as he has been in all weekend!!
I'm making major headway with my ancestry researching!! :o I joined Ancestry.com ( half price deal until tomorrow ;) ) and posted what I was researching, and a lovely lady has found out loads for me. It seems my Great grandad remarried, which I did suspect because my mum keeps mentioning Uncles that just aren't there.
I have given up on the Andertons for now ( my GG Grandma ) as its just too flippin confusing LOL
BUT the Steeles.... mum has told me a story for years how her Great Grandad came from Scotland and was in the Orange Lodge and was disowned by his family for marrying an irish catholic.
I haven't found any eveidence so far however the "e" has a hanit of coming and going on the end, and I learned last night that the "e" signifies recusant families - I had to look this up and it means they were probably catholics ;)
AND the funny part..... the lovely Rosemary dug deep in to Jeremiah ( my GGG grandad) who I couldn't found anddiscovered a definite link to ..... wait for it ........ Cumberland..... not only Cumberland but........ Workington LOL so I have come full circle LOL
At least checking records will be possible now LOL
But how weird is that? we moved here from Preston 38 years ago because my dads job was relocated and my roots are here waiting for me LOL
Most seem to be in St Bees, Gosforth and Haille (?) but even Ennerdale was mentioned... I wonder if thats why I love it so much?

Ok, that was a mega long ramble so going for now LOL
I will put some pooch pics up later that we took at Loweswater on Friday :D
I'm going to tackle my weed ridden pots outside - quite scared because I know they are full of spiders ...... eeeeekkk!!!! LOL

Hugs and (hopefully) spider free snogs,
Julie xx

New page

Evening all :D

This is my latest page in my mini book :D The lovel Cal is kindly sending me a propeller to add to thepage :D

This is my dads older brother Tony, who died when I was about 7.
I remember him being really lovely, smoking a pipe, and going fishing with my dad :D he had a golden retriever and painted watercolours (I must remember to ask dad if I could have his paint set as my dad no longer uses them).

I haven't many pics of my dads side as his mum and dad died when he was young and they were evacuated from Poland to South Africa.
But my mum definitely has some of him and my Auntie Connie which I plant to put with the postcard on this page ( it slides in behind the photo :D)

Been very busy catching up on HW today :o so pretty pooped now!!

Hugs'n' less dusty snogs :D

Starlight walk....

Last night i completed a 6 mile midnight walk for Hospice at home with friends from work :D
We made the front page of the local paper here which we couldn't believe especially as there was 1400 people doing the walk LOL
It was amazing!! Thankfully dry, after a rainy old day, and star lit :D
Robbie D was really funny, and the build up was fun and at times quite emotional. The fancy dress costumes were great, pink smurfs, Aunt Sally and Wurzel and lots of other fab costumes :D
We had a slow start and ended up right at the back buti have to say it was pretty amazing see 14oo people winding their way up a very long road all wearing flashing bunny ears :D
We got loads of support along the way, and felt amazing when we had finished :D

Made it to bed at 3am, and was flat out in minutes!!!
Roll on next year :D

Tired hugs 'n' snogs,

OMG I'm in awe.....

..at the speed some people can research genealogy!!
I have managed to trace my great grandma today through the marriage certificate I ordered and from there have traced her parents (my GG Grandparents who are both from Ireland).

I posted the info I have on www.dafgenealogy. com and somebody has confirmed my suspicions that my GG grandad wasn't from Scotland as my mum said ( would you believe Barrow!!) and has found who is prime suspect to be his wife. Which confirms my suspicions and may have also led me back to Ireland again with my GGG grandma LOL- Confused??? Yes LOL and all in under an hour :o

Feeling very proud of myself at the mo :D
Hugs'n'snogs
