Curious again?

Moira has kindly sent me pics of the mirror I altered for her as part of this swap :D

This is the back of the mirror - I printed a picture I found on the net on to a piece of canvas paper and coloured it with water colour pencils.
Inked the edges and stuck it down with glossy accents.
The mirror was painted with TH cracklepaint in scatterd straw then distressed with inks, metallic rub ons, distress stickles andanything else I could throw at it LOL
added lots of embellies like scraps of lace and metal embellies from my stash

For the front of the mirror I printed the Alice stepping through the looking glass in mirror image so that it was the correct way round on to acetate.
I tinted it with alcohol inks and found that because it was on a mirror Alice wasn't very clear.
I decided to print the image again on the canvas photo paper then cut her out and glued her on with more glossy accents.
I used loads of GA on all the lace pieces so that it was hard and added more embellies including clock hands, and a red crystal heart.

I used metal punches on the handle of the mirror then rubbed ink in to them to highlight the words "CURIOUS" and "WONDER"
added some more lace, a tassle from a handbag charm and two chess piece charms that I had coated in distress embossing powder :D

I'm pleased to say Moira loves it :D

Altered serving spoon pendant

I got this fabby serving spoon from a charity shop and bashed away atit to flatten it out - I had to get hubbys big hammer out for this one though - my little making memories one was just getting laughed at LOL :D

It then took me about a week to drill the holes with my little archemides drill ( I NEED a Dremel LOL) anda few blisters along the way :(

I used a vintage pic from Art creations Friday challenge blog printed on to canvas and then inked with TH distress inks.
I was going to use my metal punches again but it wasn't working well as the spoon was just too hard!!!

I added instead pieces of vintage music score and a dictionary definition - Dream that had also been inked.
Added lace, buttons, metal embellies, distress stickles, Sepia accents and glossy accents and dangley charms :D

This is a really large piece approx 5 !/4" fromthe top of the bale tothe bottom of the rose and 2 1/4" accross

And because its altered metal in can also enter it for this months Alter it challenge - Tin pan Ally :D

Thanks for all of your support on here and facebook with my new venture :D
I can't believe I have 23 members already :D

This is for sale on ebay - item number 130391791131

Altered pocket watch

This is a pocket watch Ibought from Jeanette at Vintage Supply Co and took apart.
Quite a fun process and worth remembering there is a particulaly boingey spring in there that catapults the contents accross the room as I discovered the hard way LOL :D

I decided to use the casing and make a pendant using a pic of my Great Aunt Molly (or Mary Ellen to be precise) printed on canvas.

I cut a piece of Prima Pastiche as the baselayer then added lace, springs, cogs, watch hands and a couple of pretty embellies.
The added a watch face over the photo.
I then re-assembled the watch casing - have to say I love it :D

I'm going to add this to the Alter it challenge blog as Mays theme is Tin Pan ally - altered metal items :D

Hugs'n'altered snogs,
Jxx
