Hidden Trasures

OMG!!!!!! I scrapped LOL :D
I don't think I have scrapped since the last UKS cybercrop - I have just been too excited by the altered art world!!! LOL :D

I wanted a torn wallpaper effect and have the images peeping out as if they had been hidden behind a layer:D

Turn your trash in to stash

I have been working on this one and off for a few days because I haven't been very well and haven't got too much patience at the min LOL

I saw this idea on the Craft Fairy blog of die cutting drinks cans to use on your cards LO's
So I set about this project :D
I cut the top and bottom off the can first then carefully cut down the side to open it up. You have to be really carefull as its very sharp!!!
I then die cut them in my Big Shot with a sizzix original die (I don't think sizzlets would cope to be honest but cuttlebug might as they are a bit stronger) then embossed them with cuttlebug embossing folders.
I painted them with acrylic paint and wiped some of the paint off as it was drying, then tinted the edges with butterscotch alcohol ink.

The brads in the centres were covered with fabric from a cushion cover I bought in Dunelm Mill for the lace around the edge.

I made the fabric roses by folding a strip of fabric down the middle and sewing along one side and the long edge roughly. I turned this right side out and then gathered the stitched edge up. I then folded it round until it sort of resembled a flower and stitched it in place. Then I ironed with a hot iron to flatten them down a bit - does all that make sense???

The lace flowers were made by sewing the long edge of a small strip and gathering up.

I used a piece of BG boxer paper as the base and distressed it a little and a piece of Prima paper which I will have to check the name of -its IOD I know that much LOL
I printed some vintage images I found on google and added one to my Melissa Frances frame ( I luurrrvvve these little frames :D) and then covered it with Ranger crackle accents (not dried yet though LOL)
Added some brads, a prima pebble, Tim Holtz ornate frame and 7 gypsies ribbon ,oh and a lovely pic of my grandma printed on canvas :D

Evening all :D

This is my latest page in my mini book :D The lovel Cal is kindly sending me a propeller to add to thepage :D

This is my dads older brother Tony, who died when I was about 7.
I remember him being really lovely, smoking a pipe, and going fishing with my dad :D he had a golden retriever and painted watercolours (I must remember to ask dad if I could have his paint set as my dad no longer uses them).

I haven't many pics of my dads side as his mum and dad died when he was young and they were evacuated from Poland to South Africa.
But my mum definitely has some of him and my Auntie Connie which I plant to put with the postcard on this page ( it slides in behind the photo :D)

Been very busy catching up on HW today :o so pretty pooped now!!

Pieces of me...

I have started a mini album using an embossed Prima chipboard album.
I have decided to call it Pieces of me - I plan to decorate the cover with jigsaw pieces and use a piece on every page.
I have loads of fab vintage pics of my ancestors and thought it would be nice to make an album with just them, as they are all the little pieces that make up me :D

This is the first page I have made with a pic of my mum ....

Busy, busy, busy...

....Oh my goodness!!!
Busy at work!! I have been working at Carlisle as they have had a major visit today from the directors!! worked lots of hours and very tired!!

and my poor pooch :( paul came to meet me at the train station on Monday and played with the dog on the wasteground next to the station - poor wee fellow took the skin off his pads running around :( He has been a very good boy and laid patiently while we bathed his feet with saline and didn't rip off the socks we taped to his feet thankfully!!
We went to see the nice vet, much to Rolos disgust, and she said they were starting to heal :D YIPEE :D so he has pain killers so he can put some weight on his tootsies :D

Ok, here's my scrapping efforts for thsi week - this is a pic of my mum as a young girl which she had a negative made, I scanned and then printed in a much bigger format - the original is teeny :o
The scowl is so like so many pics of me as a child LOL
