OMG amazing blog candy!!!

I have just stumbled upon Jaks gorgeous Blog while hopping and discovered this amazing blog candy!!!!

First DT project :D

This is my first ever DT project using the lovely MME Andrea Victoria page kit available here for just £5.25 :o from Happy Daze - I still have loads of bits left to use too :D

Its the first time I have worked on a kit like this and just used what was in it, I'm used to just grabbing what I want out of my cupboard but I really enjoyed it :D
When I first saw the photos I loved them but wasn't sure how to make them work with my style, but I loved how it turned out :D
I used my cricut Home Decor cart to cut out the frame, branch, birds and flowers out of the cardstock, but made sure I started further in the sheet so that I could cut out the frame to use as a backing for my distressed paper.
I cut down the full sheet of PP and wet the edges then roughed them up with my file, then inked to give my usual grungey look.
I tend to use colourbox chalk inkpads because I like that they show up even on dark cardstock.
I think inking the edges give the PP shapes definition against the busy background.
I LURRVVE primas as you know and was delighted to see the Camelot roses as I don't have those ones LOL
I grouped the prima pearls and gems together to resemble berries - I always think things look better using the rule of odd numbers, just more pleasing to the eye :)- and also used them as centres for my Cricut cut blossoms.
Originally I was just going to put the photo straight in the frame, but it looked a bit boring, so I cut it down and created a grunget distressed PP fram withing the frame I just wet the edges, then rolled and distressed with a file, then inked of course LOL

The only thing I added of my own was the "mum" letters stamped with a little Prima alpha set which I love :D









I'm really pleased that it still looks my style :D

LOL this is pretty tidy for me to be honest :D I can actually see my cutting mat and I give it a quick wipe last night LOL :D

I've been working on my ATC's today for the Vintage Winged Beauty ATC sawp on UKS - this really excited me as I love vintage art photos and love the pics with wings. I didn't choose one like that though haha :D
I used Safmat for the first time tonight and I likeit!!! I used it with some Prima fancies which are really cute printables you put behind Got flowers :D
I'll show you soon :D
If your very quick you will see me showcased on the ATDML homepage here , not sure how long it will be there for though LOL, but fingers crossed, I might win the comp :D

What on earth happened on X factor tonight??? I'm gutted at some of the acts that have been eliminated tonight :( And what on earth was Louie thinking putting those horrendous twins through!!! OMG!!! I can't believe they got through yet the two girls in the over 30's didn't :(

I entered my mum and dads wedding LO for the Prima comp today too - thats an ordeal - you have to list product numbers of what you have used .

Probably because I was struggling to get a decent picture because of my lighting issue!!!
This is my little niece Jess on her first beach holiday in Devon last month - can you believe that was September?? Weather is gorgeous!!!
I kinda got the idea of a Punch and Judy stand as inspiration and i quite like how it turned out :D
I used Sassafras Me likey (available from Happy Daze) and bobble trim from my stash with lots of 3d foam for depth :D

I spotted this posted on UKS and we need to help this little girl ......


Over on theDIBB we are trying to win a competition to send a little girl, who has been living a nightmare for most of her life, to Disneyland Paris. She has been nominated by a DIBB member called Babybelle who said this.

"She is only 6 and since January this year she has had neurosurgery, several shunts inserted and removed and about eight lumber punctures. The wee soul has had about 13 anaesthetics this year alone.

This lovely little girl has had epilepsy since birth but has been seizure free sincer her op in Jan. She has limited mobility and learning difficulties (bit like my own DD) and because of this has never had a birthday party.

Her parents are already planning a trip next April for her birthday and I would love to help them realise that dream."

Prima build a page

I decided to have a go at the Prima build a page sketch challenge that was posted today and this was the result. I'm not sure if you have to use all prima products but as I love them so much I did :D oh and guess what ...... its vintage LOL

I used
Prima IOD Rue 88 collection Rendezvous and Feuilles patterend papers
Prima ribbon, lace, trellis roses, e-line daises, embossed chipbard shapes,pearl swirl and centres and stamp.
The Doiley is from Laura Ashley and was a little bit big so I cut a layer off
I also used a pin, charm and fern from my stash.
I have to say I love this LO :D

Now I just need to work out where to put it on the Prima site LOL

I love these papers from Sassafras called Vintage Beauty. They are all like retro material and remind me of the dresses that my mum made me when I was a little girl. My instant thought were this pic of me in my little orange and white dress :D

Summer Fun

Ok, Ok, I know its not summer anymore but my brother and his ickle family have just been on hols down south and have some fabby new pics of thier little munchkin :D
I thoughtI would take the chance of using some lush Sassafras papers called Me Likey :D
They are bright and colourful and perfect for ickle people pics :D

I used Kraft cardstock scribbled on with coloured pencils

fabric letters from my stash that i have had so long I have no idea where they are from!!!
and I inked the edges with Colorbox chalk inks.

Week 40's challenge is to scrap in Autumnul colours, I was a bit worried because I have a serious lack of anything Autmnul!!
Then I remembered this amazing pic taken at Solfest by Paul White of Silloth who kindly gave me permission to use his photos :D

I used
K & Co Que Serasera paper
Prima Belle Fleur, Essentials fancies and tape
part of a broken watch strap (DKNY no less :lol:)
Various buttons and eyelets
Fibres - OMG I got the fibres out :lol:
A chandelier earring finding
Don't know who the chipboard shape is by sorry as it was in a kit I bought secondhand.

Turn your trash in to stash

I have been working on this one and off for a few days because I haven't been very well and haven't got too much patience at the min LOL

I saw this idea on the Craft Fairy blog of die cutting drinks cans to use on your cards LO's
So I set about this project :D
I cut the top and bottom off the can first then carefully cut down the side to open it up. You have to be really carefull as its very sharp!!!
I then die cut them in my Big Shot with a sizzix original die (I don't think sizzlets would cope to be honest but cuttlebug might as they are a bit stronger) then embossed them with cuttlebug embossing folders.
I painted them with acrylic paint and wiped some of the paint off as it was drying, then tinted the edges with butterscotch alcohol ink.

The brads in the centres were covered with fabric from a cushion cover I bought in Dunelm Mill for the lace around the edge.

I made the fabric roses by folding a strip of fabric down the middle and sewing along one side and the long edge roughly. I turned this right side out and then gathered the stitched edge up. I then folded it round until it sort of resembled a flower and stitched it in place. Then I ironed with a hot iron to flatten them down a bit - does all that make sense???

The lace flowers were made by sewing the long edge of a small strip and gathering up.

I used a piece of BG boxer paper as the base and distressed it a little and a piece of Prima paper which I will have to check the name of -its IOD I know that much LOL
I printed some vintage images I found on google and added one to my Melissa Frances frame ( I luurrrvvve these little frames :D) and then covered it with Ranger crackle accents (not dried yet though LOL)
Added some brads, a prima pebble, Tim Holtz ornate frame and 7 gypsies ribbon ,oh and a lovely pic of my grandma printed on canvas :D

100th post :D

I didn't think I would keep it up LOL so yeyyyyy me :D LOL

We had a walk at Ennerdale today, we had planned on going ver to the metro centre Newcastle but because I'm still recovering we thought that was a bit much!

I kinda had a little acident but quite a funny one - I went to step down the grass verge/ledge so asked Paul to give me hand, but spotted a smallstep down too.
Don't ask me how but I ended falt on my back on the pebbles!!!
Luckily I had the camera ;)

Took hundreds, literally hundreds, of pics of the dog :D so I will share a few faves...

Memory glass

This is my first attempt with Ranger memory glass and I'm pretty pleased with how its turned out :D
I used the frosted version ,stamped it with versamark in and embossed with clear detail embossing powder.
I tinted it with Ranger alcohol inks - not really got to grips with these yet to be honest LOL
I stuck a piece of lace to the second piece and a heart sticker and put them in the memory glass frame.
I added an extra heart sticker which I used Ranger crackle accents on, which I tinted slightly when dry with lavendar distress ink.
I added a couple of flowers and prima pearls and then used distress stickles to age it all.
I then wrapped wire around the frame so that I could attach the dangles to the bottom.

All the beads and the key are from my hoarded stash so no idea where they came from LOL

Yes, Moira from Happy Daze contacted me today and asked me to be part of her new design team :D I'm so proud :D this really cheered me up considering I have had an awful week bogged down with a horrible snotty cold fluey type icky thing :(

SLYMI challenge this week was to scrap using your handwriting - not my fave thing at all, which I suppose is what made it a good challenge LOL - plus I'm terrible at journalling!!

This is a LO of Rolo, our rescued retriever who was very troubled when we
got him. Nearly two years on and he is a totally different, utterly
gorgeous dog!!
When he arrived he was incredibly naughty and very protective of his tail and anything that belonged to him, and he was a mare to get in the kitchen where his bed is LOL!!!

For this LO I used K& Co que sera sera paper sprayed with copper cosmic shimmer
over Tim Holtz masks
Tim Holtz word key, ornate frame and sprockets,
Prima Homespun Bittles, Essentials and say it with stud centres
Skin tones promarker for the journalling

All of the above are available to buy from Happy Daze :D

I also used Making Memories brads and cork letters, Bazzil cardstock and MLS letter stickers.

Should have gone to specsavers!!!

This is my week 38 SLYMI LO - scrap a lesson learned LOL :D

I was struggling with this weeks until I was browsing my FB pics and came across this one I was tagged in with the caption - should have gone to specsavers :D
This was at Solfest when I was messing with glowsticks - hmmm that was a bit obvious LOL
Although they did come in very handy as I hung rings on my backpack to stop people walking in to it and hurting my back (which had happened all weekend!!! GRRRR!) it worked a treat - just wish I had thought of it sooner LOL
As soon as I put my homemade specs on the cameras jumped in to action and the next step was to make Caitlin some :D
This was an amazingly cheap LO as all the papers, epoxy stickers and chipboard were in a kit I bought from Poundland (which I thought I would never use LOL) The gems were also from there and I altered the colour with Sharpies which I bought from Home Bargains a while ago - 12 for £1.99!!!

A bit different from my usual style wouldn't you say???? LOL :D
That's the beauty of challenges, you take a step out of your comfort zone :D

Its been a long, long week!!!

And now I have stopped to rest I have the lurgey!! How rude!
I hate getting colds :(
I was sooooooo tired after my trip to Birmingham I was in bed by 10pm last night :o How did that happen LOL
Although I was up at 4.30 to catch my train at 5.45 and didn't get home until 7pm .....YAAAWWNNN!!!

I scrapped one of our wedding pics tonight that my big sis snapped 14 years ago!!! - I took a pic of the original, then altered it on www.rollip.com to look like a worn out old instamatic, complete with writing and a coffee stain :D I loved my wedding day :D
The frame is a digi kit from twopeas by Jen allyson called Urban chic boutique- victorian frames, gotta love hybrid :D
I aloso used lots of lush Prima centres if you look closely :D

I challenge you all to have a go at hybrid scrapping :D

Scrap with metal...

was this weeks challenge, and I know I have a sheet of embossing metal somewhere.Can Ifind it? Nooooooo!!!
So I used metal embellies instead :)




I quite like how it turned out though - although I did have big plans to make pretty embossed metal flowers :(

I used the printable canvas and I love it :D I can see me using that quite a lot :D

And I used the Prima say it in studs centres as embellies :D

Oooo I finally got round to trying my grungeboard shapes and inked them with my alcohol inks and the metal ink. You would think my hands would be purple and silver wouldn't you??? but no! I have three big turquoise splodges from the cosmic shimmer..... grrrrrrr!!!!
